This Election Day, Riverhead voters can take a huge step toward improving water quality in the Peconic Estuary and continuing to preserve open space and farmland. Our bays, harbors and beaches make life on the East End unique. On November 8th, vote YES on Proposal 1 to extend the Community Preservation Fund to 2050 and authorize projects to reduce the nitrogen pollution that is fueling rust tides, killing our fish and interfering with our economy and way of life. This measure does not increase taxes on local residents. It simply extends the existing tax paid by buyers of real estate.
