Vote YES on Ballot Measure 1 to Protect Our Water

This Election Day, East Hampton voters can take action to restore our bays and ponds and build on the successful preservation of iconic properties such as Shadmoor and Amsterdam Beach in Montauk and the Babinski Farm in Wainscott. Since 1999, an amazing $300 million has been raised through the Community Preservation Fund to preserve open space and farmland in East Hampton. On November 8th, vote YES on Proposal 1 to extend the program and authorize projects to stop the nitrogen pollution that has poisoned our waters with toxic algae. This measure does not increase taxes on local residents. It simply extends the existing tax paid by buyers of real estate.

The East Hampton Community Preservation Fund

  • Preserved 1,798 acres of woodlands, wetlands, bluffs, and pine barrens
  • Protected beautiful vistas throughout the Town from Accabonac Harbor to Northwest Harbor
  • Preserved 248 acres of farmland to keep food local and sustainable
  • Will improve our water quality through rebates and incentives for nitrogen-reducing septic systems and other projects to keep nitrogen out of our waters

Continue to protect East Hampton's lands and waters. On November 8th, vote YES on Proposal 1.
